Under stairs storage can be a game changer for achieving that beautiful tidy and clean hallway. Often a traditional cupboard becomes a dumping ground of Christmas decorations, hoovers, old shoes; I’m sure we’re all familiar. Creating pull out storage in this space allows us to make much more usable space, it also lends itself to shoe shelves and pull out coat racks. The ideal solution to a busy home hallway.

We offer various styles for the storage; we can do slab fronts for a modern look, shaker doors for a timeless elegance and raised and fielded panel doors for extra detail in period properties. We can even make a bookcase on the front which pulls out to reveal hidden storage behind, very clever!

Whichever style of door you can choose between painted and timber options. Most customers opt for painted frontage for their storage but many also choose oak.

Other more unusual requests have been wine storage, a desk, zinc lined log store, dog bed area with door, toy storage – if you have an idea – we can make it happen.

All of our storage comes with turned oak shaker knobs as standard or integrated handles by request. If you’ve seen other handles you’d like, no problem, just source them and Nick will fit the with the storage. A couple of our favourite suppliers for cabinet hardware are Jim Lawrence and Corston architectural details.

A Carpenter’s Wife Blog

Nick and I share a passion for creativity and design. We have renovated several houses together and as I was regularly drafted in to help with his carpentry work. It was a natural step to go into business together. For many years this was an informal arrangement with me learning on my feet, including CAD, web design, tax and admin. I was itching to get involved practically so it wasn’t long before I joined Nick on-site.

We’re very lucky to enjoy our time working together. My blog is a reflection on what we are doing, what we have learnt and where we are going. It’s nice to keep a written record of our journey together and life in Dorset with three young children.
