Staircase Renovation & Bespoke Carpentry: Hambledon Staircases has done several jobs for us over the years, two medium sized and one major job involving the creation of a reading room with oak staircase and display/bookcases. Nick and Imogen are sticklers for detail and finish, the standard of work is extremely high with great cleanliness and punctuality throughout the works. The works carried out in our house by Hambledon Staircases are greatly admired by all visitors to the house and I believe that the stairs in our reading room feature on their website. Oak Staircase & Under Stairs Storage: We worked with Nick and Imogen to transform our former, hand-rail free, open-riser staircase into a beautiful, oak staircase with glass-panel handrail and under-stair storage. Nick’s craftsmanship is exceptional. He helped us design the under-stair storage cupboards and drawers exactly as we wanted and his attention to detail has produced an outstanding addition to our home. Nick removed and replaced the existing, quite complex, Victorian staircase over three floors with a modern equivalent. Bespoke Staircase Renovation: Nick built a beautiful, curved and spiral staircase over the existing 18th century, very rickety and wonky staircase, preserving the original beneath and also a functional stairway to the cellar. Both were produced on schedule and budget and with the highest degree of craftsmanship. Painted & Oak Staircase Renovation: Nick recently renovated the staircase in our old cottage. He replaced the existing treads and risers and added new strings. We now have oak treads and painted risers and strings; the staircase looks and feels fabulous. He also tidied up bits and pieces of the staircase so the whole thing marries together really well.
