Yes, we should be able to help you out. We routinely work across Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset and Devon. We’ve completed many jobs beyond this area too, London and Surrey amongst others. If you’re a little further away we can always quote from photos and the do a site visit to confirm the cost.

Every staircase is different but a standard staircase renovation for a flight between 12-14 steps and a return at the top of up to 2m will cost £3950.00 including VAT. This includes the removal of the old balustrade, replacement of the newel posts, hand rails, base rails and toughened glass fitted in-line. We also offer other design choices including spindles and glass fixed with stainless steel clips. If you want a rough guide, feel free to give us a call. Lots of customers also choose to add a curtail step, cladding to the internal and external strings or storage.

We use our experience and expertise to replace the newel posts entirely. We don’t cut the old newel post off and stick a new piece on top, or clad the old newel post. We use a brand new newel post and replace it right the way through. It’s more work this way, but the overall result is better. Yes, providing they are structurally sound and meet regulations we can often adapt what you’ve already got to hold glass. When we visit your home we can talk you through the options.

Yes, we can. We create bespoke under stairs storage solutions to help you make the most of the space available, examples of which can be seen on our Under Stairs Storage page. Often our staircase clients come back to us with a second project, usually for cabinetry or freestanding furniture (although we have had a few customers with multiple staircases!).

Bespoke under stairs storage is custom-built joinery designed and made to fit the exact shape of the space beneath your staircase, rather than a standard off-the-shelf cupboard. Because every staircase is a different shape, no two projects are ever quite the same – we design each one around how you actually want to use the space, whether that’s shoes and coats, wine, a home office, or something more unusual.

Costs vary depending on the size of the space, the finish you choose, and how much internal detail (drawers, pull-outs, adjustable shelving) is involved. In most cases, no – fitting storage into an existing under-stairs void is a cosmetic addition rather than a structural change. If your project involves altering the staircase itself or affects fire escape routes, there may be building regulations to consider, and we can advise on this during your free design visit. Every project starts with a free design visit, where we measure the space and talk through what you’d like. From there we’ll give you a quote and, once confirmed, your storage is made to order in our own workshop before being fitted in your home. Timescales depend on the complexity of the design and our current workshop schedule – we’ll give you a clear timeline as part of your quote.

We offer a range of styles, from simple painted slab doors through to shaker-style doors with face frames and detailing like beaded edges. Finishes include eggshell paint in a colour of your choice (including Farrow & Ball and other premium ranges) or oiled oak. We’ll talk through the options that suit your home during your design visit.

Yes. Under stairs storage doesn’t have to mean a single cupboard – we’ve built everything from pull-out shoe and coat storage through to full dressing rooms, bootrooms, and fitted dressers built into the available space. If you have a specific idea in mind, tell us about it during your design visit and we’ll work out how to make it happen.

Yes! Under stairs storage is very often a standalone project, separate from any staircase renovation. Many of our customers come to us purely for storage, with no staircase work involved at all.

Awkward shapes are the norm rather than the exception with under-stairs spaces, and it’s exactly what bespoke joinery is for. Because everything is made to measure in our own workshop, we design around the space you actually have – sloped ceilings, wonky walls, odd angles and tight corners included.

Yes! This is one of our favourite types of project. We’ve built bookcases that conceal a full-sized door through to further storage or rooms beyond, giving you the storage without it looking like storage. Yes, pull-out shoe racks and coat rails are among our most popular under-stairs solutions, particularly for busy family hallways where everyday access matters as much as how it looks.

Yes. We’ve built floor-to-ceiling storage that screens off a staircase entirely, transforming how a room feels and adding privacy, while still making full use of the space for genuine storage.
