Painted and glass renovations give you a crisp, contemporary look – a painted staircase structure paired with glass balustrading, rather than exposed wood grain. It’s a popular choice for homeowners wanting a brighter, more modern feel without losing the architectural presence of a staircase as a feature.
As with our other styles, this is available in two ranges:
**Signature Painted & Glass** – the handrail (typically left in a natural wood or oak finish to contrast with the painted spindles/posts, or painted to match – your choice) is hand-crafted from a single piece of oak in our Dorset workshop.
**Classic Painted & Glass** – uses a factory-made engineered oak handrail. A more cost-conscious way to get the same painted-and-glass look.
The glass itself is always 10mm toughened glass regardless of range, so the safety and visual clarity is identical – the difference between ranges is in how the handrails are made, not the glass.

A new painted and glass staircase renovation with a glass balustrade offers a range of personalised options. Choose the paint colour and finish, the glass size and whether you want satin or chrome clips or completely clip-free! We can also install the glass directly into the banister or we can fit the glass in large pieces or narrow sections, to create glass spindles. The choice is yours.

Our painted and glass staircase renovations include the replacement of the balustrade, and removing and replacing newel posts, hand rails, and base rails.
Often customers will decide to take their renovation to the next level, adding curtail steps, wall hung handrails, cladding strings and cladding the treads and risers.
