We actually cover about a 2 hour radius from our home in Dorset, so we cover the whole of Somerset
If it’s a design visit you are looking for we visit Bath, Bristol, Frome, Wells, Glastonbury and Cheddar regularly, we can normally pop by after finishing a job local to you. We bring the samples our so that you can get a feel for the products we offer. Our handrails are all crafted from a single piece of oak (not a cheaper ‘handrail blank’ so you’ll be able to experience the quality. It’s a very tactile thing isn’t it a handrail? So good to check it ‘feels right’. We also bring samples of newel posts, glass and spindles so that you can see exactly how your finished staircase will look.
Of course we are always happy to quote from photos in the first instance, this is super quick so can really help with planning when the staircase is part of a bigger project. You can contact via WhatsApp or email for photo quotes, just send photos of the staircase as it is now, your postcode and an idea of what you would like ‘e.g iron spindles and oak handrail’. We break the quotes down so that you can pick and mix the bits that you want.
A Carpenter’s Wife Blog
Nick and I share a passion for creativity and design. We have renovated several houses together and as I was regularly drafted in to help with his carpentry work. It was a natural step to go into business together. For many years this was an informal arrangement with me learning on my feet, including CAD, web design, tax and admin. I was itching to get involved practically so it wasn’t long before I joined Nick on-site.
We’re very lucky to enjoy our time working together. My blog is a reflection on what we are doing, what we have learnt and where we are going. It’s nice to keep a written record of our journey together and life in Dorset with three young children.
