Based in Dorset, we carry out the majority of our staircase renovation work close to home — regularly serving Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Wimborne, Dorchester and Sherborne, along with the villages in between.

Most Dorset projects start the same way: a free design visit where we look at your existing staircase and talk through what’s structurally sound and what could be improved. From there, the work usually involves some combination of new newel posts, handrails and spindles — with oak, glass, metal spindle and painted finishes all popular choices with Dorset homeowners, particularly in period cottages and Victorian townhouses where we’re often asked to sensitively update a staircase without losing its character.

Our signature range is made in our own workshop rather than bought in, so a Dorset renovation is genuinely bespoke – right down to the 90mm newel posts, 41mm spindles and 10mm toughened glass we use as standard in our signature range.

Most recently we renovated a staircase just up the road from our own home, this customer chose oak and black metal spindles and invited us to make storage for their under stairs area too, a full makeover for their hallway.

Where do I start? What an outstanding job! From the first contact Imogen and Nick were friendly and helpful. We couldn’t see how to solve our slightly unusual staircase layout, just knew that we wanted oak and glass. We sent photographs and the quote and solution came back very quickly. Nick visited to explain what he intended to do and show us wood samples. Our grandson was intrigued with the sample box!
Appointments were made for the first and second visits and Nick arrived exactly when he said. I can only say he was a pleasure to have in the house, friendly and a tidy worker.
The second visit saw the glass panels installed and the entire job was wrapped up. We are so impressed with the final result and the standard of the workmanship.
