Somerset projects often bring us into older, more unusual properties – including one memorable renovation where we built a curved, spiral staircase over an original 18th-century staircase, preserving the historic structure beneath while creating a functional new stairway down to the cellar. It’s the kind of project that sums up what we enjoy most about renovation work: working with what’s already there rather than ripping it out.
As Imogen grew up in Bath, she first introduced to several Somerset clients through friends and family, word of mouth has carried us further into the county since – from period homes to more recent builds.
As with all our signature renovations, everything is manufactured to order in our workshop: oak, sapele, tulipwood, ash and walnut are all options, and every project is quoted and designed around your specific staircase rather than a standard template.
We regularly work in Bath and Bristol, as well as smaller towns and villages including Wells, Pilton, Glastonbury, Taunton, Bridgewater and Frome.

Nick built a beautiful, curved and spiral staircase over the existing 18th century, very rickety and wonky staircase, preserving the original beneath and also a functional stairway to the cellar. Both were produced on schedule and budget and with the highest degree of craftsmanship.
